Feast of Ingathering (Feast of Tabernacles)
S
(Exo 23:16-17 KJV) "And the feast of
harvest,
the firstfruits of thy
labours, which thou hast
sown in the field: and the feast of
ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when thou hast gathered in thy labours
out of the field. Three times in the year all thy males shall appear before the Lord GOD."
1) At the end of the age when Jesus reaps His harvest.
(Mat 13:30 KJV) "Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest
I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the
tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the
wheat into my barn."
(Rev 14:14-16 KJV) "And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat
like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle. {15} And another angel came out of the temple,
crying with a loud
voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is
come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. {16} And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped."
2) To every seed his own body
(1 Cor 15:37, 38)
"And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be,
but bare grain,
it may chance of wheat,
or of some other grain: But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him,
and to every seed his own body."
3) The grapes are cast into the wine press of the wrath of God.
(Rev 14:17-20 KJV) "And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also
having a sharp sickle. And another angel came out from the altar,
which had power over fire; and cried with a loud cry to him that had the
sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters
of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are fully ripe. And the
angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the
earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the
wrath
of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood
came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of
a thousand and six hundred furlongs."
Basically the same feast
Feast of ingathering and tabernacle are basically the same feast but
have two main points, which seems to be the reason why two words describe
it. The feast of tabernacles occurs after the corn and wine are gathered.
(Deu 16:13 KJV) "Thou shalt observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that
thou hast gathered in thy
corn
and thy wine:"
I believe we will be dwelling in our new home in the tabernacle of God
after we are reaped. More on that in another study.
(Rev 21:1-3 KJV) "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the
first earth were
passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John
saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared
as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out
of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will
dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be
with them, and be their God."
All those who come out of great tribulation will be serving God in His
temple at His throne.
(Rev 7:14-15 KJV)"And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are
they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes,
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore are they
before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and
he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them."
On all those that are left of the nations who will not come up to Jerusalem
to worship the king, there shall be no rain.
(Zec 14:16-17 KJV) "And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations
which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship
the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the
earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon
them shall be no rain."
